When a seemingly unmanned ship crashes into a Brooklyn dock, ship inspector Silas Green and his troublemaking nephew Julius discover, to their horror, that the vessel’s entire crew has been killed, their maimed and mutilated corpses strewn across the deck. Stranger still, a vicious wolf is on board, sending Julius running in terror, only for him to stumble into a group of neighborhood gangsters to whom he owes a hefty sum. But when the wolf transforms into the debonair vampire Max, who gorily dispatches the thugs, he offers Julius a bargain he can’t refuse: become his undead servant. Meanwhile, Detective Rita Veder is assigned to solve the mystery of the bloodied boat and quickly begins to sense that something unusual is afoot. Unaware that she too comes from a line of bloodsuckers, Rita is slowly seduced by Max, who takes on an increasingly bizarre array of disguises and is determined to make her his bride, thereby ensuring the survival of his vampiric bloodline.

The unlikeliest of collaborations between master of horror Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and comedy legend Eddie Murphy (The Golden Child, The Nutty Professor), VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN is a wild and original retelling of the Dracula legend that alternates between outrageous comedy and deliciously bloody horror, all while calling to mind the blaxploitation-horror hybrids of the 1970s. Featuring supporting performances from two-time Oscar nominee Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), alongside cult favorites Kadeem Hardison (Def by Temptation) and Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner), this delightfully deranged genre mash-up makes its 4K UHD debut from Vinegar Syndrome, newly restored from its original negative and accompanied by a grisly assortment of extras you’ll be dying to get your fangs into.
