Their home video line presents a diverse selection of movies, ranging from new preservations of classics from the vast library of Something Weird to the wildest in shot-on-video (SOV) titles. Friedman, and directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis, BLOOD FEAST follows a caterer named Fuad Ramses who is hired to provide "an authentic Egyptian feast” for a birthday party. He wastes no time in committing unbelievable mutilation murders to appease an Egyptian goddess named Ishtar. A direct influence on John Waters (MULTIPLE MANIACS), Frank Henenlotter (BASKET CASE), and dozens of 1980s slashers, BLOOD FEAST erupts with pop-art brain-bludgeons, tabloid-style ghoulishness, and pitch-black gallows humor. AGFA and Something Weird are honored to unleash the definitive home video presentation of this seminal splatterfest—now newly restored in 4K from the original camera negative for the first time ever.
